As I sit at my computer, this is part of the view from my window. I live in Far North Queensland and my world is full of birdsong and trees, butterflies and blossoms.

Why, oh why is Australia on its current path?

We are destroying the work the natural world does reducing climate change impacts.   What about our special biodiversity?

We are wasting money we don’t have, trying to replace our electricity supply with unreliable and ultimately very expensive and destructive wind and solar energy systems. There are not enough mineral resources to build enough wind and solar to meet various Government targets.

Energy dense, life saving nuclear energy is misunderstood and banned.

We are threatening our future by thinking that hydrogen will replace our export earnings.

Some of our best agricultural land is threatened when world food security is dropping.

We rely on crucial imports while we lose our manufacturing skills. Supplies of fertilizers and pharmaceuticals are already diminishing. Are we going back to a world without antibiotics?

The future could be so different.  We need to stop the misguided virtue signalling and start doing some real thinking and planning.  There are no perfect answers, but we could be in a much better place.  Let’s start learning and really thinking things through.  Enough Australians are hurting already.
